Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

This could be considered if user modification and usability other than the
current default is a concern.
Noting that prior to the recent unity update to 3.4.1 or .2 this worked fine
(could revert to 3.4.1 if need be to ck.

Using cube (and rotate) is still a valid if not currently supported option -
and continues to work fine for the most part. (this bug is still valid - bug
#703291
Since the update, when using unfold ( Ctrl+Alt+arrow down : arrow left, right)
the first use in a session is fine, any subsequent use will 'highlight' the top
icon in the launcher and expose the tooltip, which in this case will only show
"Keep in Launcher"

The only way at that point to regain control of the launcher is to open
that or any other icon in the launcher.

As to whether the use of cube instead of wall ( likely paired w/ rotate), is
to be considered viable is a bit unclear, left somewhat open here
