Hey C de-Avillez! Thanks for your report. Hmm, this should be a
duplicate of bug 717170, but that was a bug in Software Center 3.1.17
that was fixed soon after with the release of 3.1.17.1 (please see bug
717170 for details).

I'm a bit perplexed by your report, then, because it indicates that you
have 3.1.17.1 already.

So, if you don't mind, could you please type the following in a
terminal:

  sudo update-software-center

If you see the XAPIAN_BASE_PATH error again, then please try:

  sudo apt-get update
  apt-cache policy software-center

(you probably know -- this will show you what version of software-center
you have installed and what version is available in the archive, tho I
don't know why your installed version wouldn't be as indicated in the
apport report)

So, if this shows that you are indeed at version 3.1.17.1, maybe try the
following to reinstall software-center:

  sudo apt-get install software-center --reinstall

Please let us know if you are still having this problem after these
steps.
