No, I've been seeing invalid frame buffer messages in a lot of logs (including my own). I need to look into that at some point but I suspect it's a red herring.
Are you able to reproduce this issue easily enough? If so, please collect a full backtrace - see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for directions.
