Public bug reported: After upgrading dovecot-postfix, my postfix configuration file (/etc/postfix/main.cf) had been overwritten without warning. This caused me to lose several customizations including postgrey and DNS RBLs.
The expected behavior would be the upgrade should warn me that the conf file was being overwritten and allowed me to keep my existing configuration. package information: dovecot-postfix: Installed: 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6.3 Candidate: 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6.3 Version table: *** 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6.3 0 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages ubuntu information: Description: Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Release: 10.04 ** Affects: dovecot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/717298 Title: dovecot-postfix upgrade overrides main.cf -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
