Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: texlive-base

Yesterday morning I had a working LaTeX system on my 10.10 64-bit
desktop. I do updates about every week, so nothing was very old. I
attempted to install latex-cjk-korean and it failed, producing something
like:

dpkg: error processing tex-common (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 texlive-base
 texlive-latex-base
 texlive-latex-recommended
 tex-common

I tried to get these to coexist by removing them singly and re-
installing them, but ended up without ever getting texlive-base to
coexist with tex-common and successfully configure both. To get back any
kind of Tex support I had to remove all texlive packages and add only
the texlive-binaries.

I am attaching the stdout capture that I get when I try to install
texlive-latex-recommended as an example.

I searched launchpad and the forums and found numerous current cases
where people cannot get texlive to work anymore in 10.10 but haven't
seen an active bug reporting it, so here it is. Since many people rely
on LaTeX I would say it is a serious bug.

I will be happy to try any experiments and post results if it will help.

Jeff
