Can I also confirm that the same has happened to my Audigy 2 ZS card. It
seems the device could be wrong as when I launch "alsamixer" in the
terminal it shows "Realtek ALC850" channels not my "Audigy 2 ZS"
channels.

* I should note from the "Sound Preferences" in the device drop down
menu it displays three devices VIA 8235(which is my on board chip),
Audigy 2 ZS (my sound card), and the Realtek ALC850. However I have not
seen the Realtek before and my hardware doesn't contain it, and I think
Ubuntu is trying to use something that doesn't exist.
