I'm not sure on the appropriate solution for this one as of yet.  I
acknowledge the issue at hand, and provide this as a workaround:  When
you log out, you can log in as your normal user.  Running mythtv-setup
will spawn the helper script to put you into the mythtv group.  You will
log out once more, and again log in as a normal user.  Now you can run
mythtv-setup from this user's account.  If you have a better suggestion
for how to solve this problem, feel free to post it here.
