Sorry, that's not a very precise description.

The background running thing is not a real issue and should be ignored.
I just needed to press <return> to get the o.s. prompt!

The nautilus behavior is odd but of low consequence; just use another
file browser with xming. Although access to the deleted items folder
being prevented is odd.

When I closed the main nautilus window, the wallpaper window remained
and wouldn't close. I had to close the xming service.
