configure succeeded, so I'm afraid we'll need to see the make output to know what's going on here. There's a bug in older versions of the openafs dkms package that causes the make.log output to not be captured properly. Reproducing with version 1.4.12.1+dfsg-3 or later should result in more detailed build output, or you can manually make the same fix and then try running dpkg-reconfigure on the openafs-modules-dkms package. In /usr/src/openafs-*/dkms.conf, put () around the contents of MAKE[0].
