I'm going to try the boot options suggested above. This bug is affecting
me because I have a KVM switch connected to this recently-built maverick
server system. It's one that switches USB keyboard and mouse. When I
switch away from the maverick system and switch back, I've lost the usb
keyboard and mouse. The other 3 ports on the switch connect to a debian
lenny server, a debian etch server and a new laptop running win 7. I've
experienced this with linux-image-2.6.35-24-server kernel and the latest
linux-image-2.6.35-25-server kernel.

My point is that this could be a showstopper bug for some people running
servers because they need to connect/disconnect keyboard and mouse
without rebooting. Perhaps the importance of this bug should be set
accordingly.
