I lost digital sound output on my 64-bit computer a few days back,
apparently with the upgrade to kernel 2.6.35-25. I have tried various
things in the hope of getting sound back, including upgrading to the
next kernel 2.6.35-26 and updating the alsa drivers, uninstalling and
reinstalling pulseaudio, etc., but so far nothing helps. My audio card
is described by lspci as follows:

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio
Controller
