This bug is still active. The only way to get control of the desktop
again is by switching to a terminal, logging in a killing the process of
gnome-screensaver. In some cases there are two pid's for gnome-
screensaver.

Perhaps gnome-screensaver should ensure that its process is terminated
properly if the password of the user is correct.
