Ubuntu 10.10 with latest updates: Yes, installing gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly solved the problem. WIth gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg the problem still persist. Anyway, Ubuntu going banshee-way now. And it seems like nobody is using crossfading )
