The VarLogDistupgradeTermlog.gz appears to be mangled, did you run out
of disk space during installation? If you free up disk space and
install dictionaries-common again, does it succeed? If so, this is not
a bug in dictionaries-common (but possibly one could specify more user-
friendly behavior from synaptic and/or dpkg in this situation).
I am setting the Status of this bug report to Incomplete to mark it as
pending on your response to the question above. Once you have supplied
the requested information, it can be changed back to New (or Invalid, if
my speculation is correct; or perhaps even Confirmed, if the bug is
well-defined and repeatable).
