las, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. In
Ubuntu 10.10 I could see the font SLIDASinhala in libreoffice-calc via
the Terminal:

cd ~/Destkop && wget
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/454099/+attachment/843676/+files/SLIDA.ttf.zip
&& file-roller -h SLIDA.ttf.zip && rm SLIDA.ttf.zip && cd SLIDA.ttf &&
sudo mv SLIDA.ttf /usr/share/fonts && sudo fc-cache -f -v && soffice
-calc test.xls

Does the above command work for you?

lsb_release -rd

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update &&
sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-calc
