I don't know about the credentials, but maybe smb://username:passwd@host/path/ will work? The problem is with very large files like movies, the files first getting downloaded by kde and than (after multiple minutes) played. This is totally unnecessary since vlc can stream files from samba perfectly. Old (before update from 4.5.1 to 4.5.2) behavior was streaming.
The link is very slow but will load eventually.
