You're correct in your analysis of what the checkboxes mean - it's just
whether or not to use the default route from the VPN.
Please, can you provide additional information regarding this bug? We'd
need to know which version of Ubuntu you are using, as well as what is
the output of "ip route list" before you connect to the vpn, as well as
after connecting with the checkbox checked and unchecked.
