Hello. I am sorry to say, but I am extremely disappointed by the way this bug report is (/isn't?) being dealt with. The lack of correspondence/support is woeful at best and downright rude at worst.
Just because a bug is found by a 'noob' rather than a dev, doesn't make it any less valid of a bug. A small amount of friendly support will go a long way in helping you achieve better bug reduction. Ignoring bugs until you no longer support that particular release is not an option if Ubuntu is ever to achieve it's goals.
