Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xsane

xsane was working fine some weeks ago for scanning using the
HP_Color_LaserJet_CM1312nfi we have in the lab, but suddenly it crashes
when starting, just after showing the message: "Scanning for
devices...". The same happens to other ubuntu 10.10 stations we have. I
attach a text file containing the lines that are printed on the terminal
(xsane_crashes.txt).
