I was experiencing crashes on startup of backintime-gnome on Ubuntu
10.10 after I accidentally shutdown my computer during an in-progress
backup (at least I think that was what started making it crash). I tried
removing the backintime Ubuntu package and re-installing it, but it
would still crash when starting it. After reading this bug report, I was
made aware that back in time stores its configuration in
~/.config/backintime/config. I removed the backintime subdir from
`/.config, and now back in time starts properly. I reconfigured by
backups and it is now running successfully. Apparently, something in the
config file was causing the crash.
