Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 10.10 on an Asus UL50VT.

>From the drawing on the key, fn+F2 is supposed to turn the wireless
on/off (to the best of my knowledge the laptop does not have an extra
switch to do this). Indeed, it does - judging from /var/log/syslog, powertop
and the availability of wireless networks it seems that fn+f2 turns the
wireless on/off. This is not reflected in the wireless' LED - it always
remains on regardless of whether the wifi's status. The wifi worked
out of the box.
