@ Manfred Hampl (Post #3): Removing "Xorg-Server-Nouveau" -package (and 2 depending Xorg-packages) is the trick - one just has to know . . . The package is installed by default - I never used it on this PC, for it got an ATI-GraCard and no Nvidia !
