Also impacting me on my HP DV6000t laptop. Muting the mixer using the mouse and menu options works fine. Pressing the Mute button shows a Blue on Gray (HP-provided?) "Mute on" or "Mute off" message in the middle of the screen, but no muting occurs.
I believe it worked well at a previous version of Feisty.
