I also get an X error with 'subtitleeditor', but only when it tries to
load a video automatically (if it has the same name as the subtitle file
except for the extension) or when a video is listed on the command line.
It seems like it doesn't happen when the video is loaded "manually" from
inside the GUI.  Also, it does not always happen when I run the
application with the --debug-all parameter.  (My guess is that there is
a race condition somewhere...?)

Can somebody else also try loading the video from the Video menu to
confirm this?  (You can prevent the video from auto-loading by changing
its filename or by putting it in a different folder.)
