Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udev

Hello

On my samsung Nf310 the brightness keys doesn't work on a default
install of 10.10 (32 or 64 bit) nor with the latest updates and they
actually crashes the system when using them. On 11.04 alpha 1 the system
no longer crashes but the keys does nothing.

I also tried booting 11.04 on my other Samsung laptop, a R510, and it
has the same problem. And judging from the number of bugs on launchpad
when searching for "samsung brightness" I'd say this is a common problem
om samsung laptops.

There is a PPA at this URL thas fixes my problem (and probably a bunch of the
other reports):
https://launchpad.net/~voria/+archive/ppa
It has an updated kernel, udev and a kernel module called samsung-backlight
(among other things).

I think these fixes should be integrated in 11.04 so that samsung
laptops work out-of-the-box!

(I'm reporting this for udev as I'm not sure which package to chose)
