When you selected Guided Partitioning, did you go any further in first
time? Or did you just select Guided Partitioning and then selected back?

I try to find out how did you end up in situation where you are (trying
to achieve same kind of situation with my own installation).

You can always go to different window during installation and delete
volume groups with /sbin/lvm vgremove <volumegroup>.
