Same problem here. Lenovo ideapad, intel i5, vga out is shaky. Just dropped a bunch of money on this laptop and was having enough success with Ubuntu 10.10 on other (older lower powered desktops) that I never even booted into Windows 7 that came with the machine. As I'm waiting for a fix for this I get to explain to my boss why I can't use my new machine to do presentations.
