In Maverick (with KMS enabled), the main performance issue I still experience is slow scrolling in Firefox (especially when viewing pages like slashdot.org and yahoo.com). I found recently that if I disable EXA pixmaps (Option "EXAPixmaps" "off" in xorg.conf), my scrolling performance improves greatly.
