- Can you still reproduce this?

- Are you sure that the disk partition containing your home directory is
not full?

- If you start Shotwell with a fresh database directory (e.g. 'shotwell
-d ~/foo'), does the assertion failure still occur?

- Are you able to build Shotwell 0.8 from source?  If so, it would be
great if you could apply the attached patch to the Shotwell 0.8 sources,
then build and run Shotwell from the command line.  With this patch,
before the assertion failure occurs Shotwell will print out a line that
looks like this:

VersionTable: res == <some number>

Do you see that line?  What number is printed?
