Dear Anders Kaseorg not know if you've understood my problem with SD cards. I introduce the SD card into the laptop. Select the photos and videos I want, select the option to copy (to pass on to my computer) I go to the folder where I want to copy the data, I give the option to paste in the folder you want and not copied anything. But the problem is more serious when I go to the SD card are not files. After I put the SD card in another computer with Windows XP to try to recover the photos with a professional software for data recovery, and found nothing. That is, as if they had not existed anywhere. and I've lost my Ubuntu 10.10 on several occasions photographic work I do for my website, plus videos that I do.
I do what you say, I'ma computer technician, telecommunication and always give to safely remove all of my SD cards or flash drives so that I can not erase anything, but if I do that whenever I go to remove any of them , I always delete the data. I tested on Ubuntu 10.04 and it does not, in either case Ubuntu 9.10. In earlier versions do not occur. I've also tested on Ubuntu-based distributions like Linux Mint 9, Molinux 6, Jolicloud 1.1 and this error happens all based on Ubuntu 10.10. I think the error is in any implementation of the Ubuntu operating system, and I've tried for a while in Windows XP, Vista and 7, and in any case this problem happens only on Ubuntu. I hope that from Ubuntu, development technicians, make a solution for the new version of ubuntu which is expected as version 11.04. as I would like to continue using Ubuntu, but with this ruling I may lose all of my photographic work. I hope some solution in the next version, or recall from now, any updates you do not delete anything. Greetings and thank you very much for your response. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/696610 Title: loss of data memory card error grave -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
