Never managed to fix or get mine fixed. Finished up with a better laptop running Windows 7.
If you run a computer flawlessly for years and then install a different operating system and it then "permanently" dies, it may well be pure coincidence, but there seems to be a lot of "coincidences" happening. If someone ever identifies the cause of this problem be it Ubuntu or Toshiba I would love to see the answer.
