And it is fixed again in Debian unstable. Version 2010.12.09-1 in the Debian repository fixes this problem. Unfortunately, I can't upload a fix to Ubuntu for the packages that I maintain in Debian. If I could, then things would be much smoother, as I usually upload a new package in one or two days of an upstream new release (and, in fact, I am closely following upstream, also proposing some patches and so on). Of course, given the volatile nature of youtube-dl, some measures to handle the frequent fixes should be taken. In the mean time, I may offer one package in a PPA, if that's desired.
