This IS still a problem. In fact, it is worse now in 10.10. As with nimu, it now works correctly ONCE after a reboot. Subsequent camera connections are ignored, and now I can't even get to it via F-Spot as I could before. dmesg says: [962250.783770] usb 1-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 14 [962296.343773] usb 1-5: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 14 What other info do you need to finally fix this issue?
