I've read that these drives do not understand SCSI-3 commands (whatever that means), which cdrecord is trying to send to them. I guess I'm filing the bug for cdrecord to deal with these drives properly. Neither CD, nor DVD, nor DVD DL burning works, although the drive is supposed to support all these operating modes.
