------- snip --------

The relevant error seem to be these:
/usr/bin/X11/cdrecord: Input/output error. write_g1: scsi sendcmd: no error

The drive is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N, with the HA1 firmware version.
I've read that these drives do not understand SCSI-3 commands (whatever
that means), which cdrecord is trying to send to them. I guess I'm
filing the bug for cdrecord to deal with these drives properly.

Neither CD, nor DVD, nor DVD DL burning works, although the drive is
supposed to support all these operating modes.
