Sorry for the delay, I was occupied in RL; I had the intention to test the ppa but please, let me a couple of day. I am upgrading to the ppa now (maverick).
In the meantime, I have had difficulties in reproducing the bug (*before* upgrading to the ppa). On the same AVI where I firstly saw the error, now what happens is that the sound is stuttering or absent but I have no error messages. Ok, upgrading and testing.
