I noticed I still have libx264-98 along with libx264-106, and -98 is probably still used by mencoder since it depends on it.
However, I tried using x264 directly (since I only have the -106 version on the system now) and even though LouL command line fails here : raw [error]: raw input requires a resolution. x264 [error]: could not open input file `IronMan.mkv' via any method! trying with "x264 --bitrate 1000 --input-res 1280x720 -o test.264 IronMan.mkv" produces an 8MB file that's unplayable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/690296 Title: libx264 2:0.98.1653+git88b90d9-3ubuntu1 messes up bitrate when encoding (at least using mencoder) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
