While I never experienced this issue myself (being a longtime BSD/Linux
user) I reported this issue on behalf of recent windows "switchers" who
encountered it. Such users aren't accustomed to the deletion of tmp
files (in particular openoffice documents) without warning, so it seems
problematic that files can so easily be downloaded to, opened from and
saved to this location.

if a firefox download is opened in e.g. openoffice, it is saved to /tmp, then
deleted by bootclean script
