Haha no I just felt that question puzzling. Wasn't trying to be sassy ;-) I'm not getting the lzma error in bug #562312 although I am getting a gzip error instead. Just to be sure I reformatted and made a fresh LiveUSB with ~1GB of unused space and 2GB for casper-rw. Despite having space available I'm still getting this. I should probably file a separate bug on this later if nobody else has.
To clarify, any and all changes to the LiveUSB isn't saved at all. Manually pinned apps on the panel will disappear when I reboot (only the defaults are left). I've tried downloading a small file into a fresh LiveUSB, confirmed it's there in Downloads and I find it's no longer in the Downloads folder when I reboot the LiveUSB. Ditto for installing apps from Software Center. Reboot and it's no longer installed. So my bug is about persistence not working at all, not update errors/corruption. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 562312 initramfs-tools failed to install/upgrade, due to all space on usb key reserved for persistent storage. No space left to write initrd or vmlinuz. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/687374 Title: LiveUSB created with Natty ISO not persistent -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
