Iam having the same issue on a dell Dimension computer that I installed 10.04 on. The only difference is that I dont see any errors in the system logs. Mouse freezes with no particular action taken to make it freeze. Its just a random thing.
I have tried the acpi=force irqpoll suggestion found in forums and did not help. I did install the same 64bit version on a HP system and didnt have any problems. Works flawlessly.
