Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make ubuntu better. It looks like bacula was not able to connect to mysql to write its configuration. Did you have a pre-existing mysql installation with a custom root password? If so, does it help to do as listed in section 3.1 of http://wiki.bacula.org/doku.php?id=mysql ?
