Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
Update-manager does not restore original sources.list when upgrade fails. An upgrade to 11.04 was attempted, without realisation that the system was missing some updates. As such, the upgrade did not actualise. However, the /etc/apt/sources.list file was not reverted to the original one, thus resulting in some dependency problems when an update was run later on. The original repositories file had to be manually restored from the sources.list.save file. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python2.7/+bug/687524 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: update-manager 1:0.142.20 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.41-generic 2.6.35.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Dec 9 05:09:07 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Alpha amd64 (20100630.2) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANG=en_HK.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: update-manager ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/687542 Title: Update-manager does not restore original sources.list when upgrade fails -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
