This is a xorg-video-intel specific issue — the problem others are seeing with NVIDIA drivers may be similar, but they are probably not the same. The Intel driver guys know about this problem (see http://www .mail-archive.com/intel-...@lists.freedesktop.org/msg01932.html ), although I haven't heard anything about a fix yet. I have the same problem on my ThinkPad X201 (i5) in both Ubuntu 10.10 and Gentoo. Perhaps we should file a bug at http://intellinuxgraphics.org/feedback.html to track the issue upstream?
