Hi Daniel,

I've managed to make my Internal Microphone works partially, more info here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1638986

I've noticed that using the "Crack of the Day" builds of alsa-driver
there's no need to boost the microphone anymore. But I still have to add
"options snd-hda-intel model=mbp55" to "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf"
and it still records only on the right channel!?

I attached the output of "alsa-info.sh" in this thread too...

Hope it help.
