I tried the 2.6.36 kernel on S10-3 and found that the system boots without needing intel_idle.max_cstate=0. However, if the netbook is suspended, it does not resume unless intel_idle.max_cstate=0 is present as a kernel option. The image used was: linux-image-2.6.36-02063601-generic_2.6.36-02063601.201011231330_i386.deb
