Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bluez
When I go to my Bluetooth Preferences, I see a message that says "Your computer does not have any Bluetooth adapters plugged in". Previously in 10.04, I would see my list of Bluetooth devices, Logitech diNovo Mouse and Keyboard. Strangely, I composed this bug report with my Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse, without a functioning Bluetooth subsystem. When I run command: sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth status It returns: * bluetooth is not running Running command: hcitool dev Returns no devices I see this is in /var/log/messages: Dec 5 14:20:45 megatron kernel: [ 370.946469] input: Logitech Logitech BT Mini-Receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-3/2-3.2/2-3.2:1.0/input/input6 Dec 5 14:20:45 megatron kernel: [ 370.946766] generic-usb 0003:046D:C70B.0003: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Keyboard [Logitech Logitech BT Mini-Receiver] on usb-0000:00:02.0-3.2/input0 Dec 5 14:20:45 megatron kernel: [ 371.031760] usb 2-3.3: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 7 Dec 5 14:20:45 megatron kernel: [ 371.191003] input: Logitech Logitech BT Mini-Receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/usb2/2-3/2-3.3/2-3.3:1.0/input/input7 Dec 5 14:20:45 megatron kernel: [ 371.192417] generic-usb 0003:046D:C70C.0004: input,hiddev96,hidraw1: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [Logitech Logitech BT Mini-Receiver] on usb-0000:00:02.0-3.3/input0 Dec 5 14:22:01 megatron kernel: [ 446.270805] lo: Disabled Privacy Extensions Dec 5 14:31:47 megatron kernel: [ 1033.006910] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.15 Dec 5 14:31:47 megatron kernel: [ 1033.008113] NET: Registered protocol family 31 Dec 5 14:31:47 megatron kernel: [ 1033.008118] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized Dec 5 14:31:47 megatron kernel: [ 1033.008124] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: bluez 4.69-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.41-generic 2.6.35.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Dec 5 14:37:25 2010 InterestingModules: bluetooth ProcCmdLine: root=/dev/md0 ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: bluez dmi.bios.date: 02/23/2006 dmi.bios.vendor: Phoenix Technologies, LTD dmi.bios.version: 6.00 PG dmi.board.name: NF-CK804 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnPhoenixTechnologies,LTD:bvr6.00PG:bd02/23/2006:svn:pn:pvr:rvn:rnNF-CK804:rvr:cvn:ct3:cvr: hciconfig: rfkill: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no ** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685608 Title: Bluetooth Adapter Not Present After Upgrade to Ubuntu 10.10 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
