This problem has nothing to do with false fstab settings.
My fstab contains UUIDs as it should.

The real problem is that the kernel doesn't detect my 2 cd-rom drives
and the don't show up in/dev/ like they did with 2.6.20-13.

** Summary changed:

- upgrade to 2.6.20-14 - 1 minute hang at boot - hda changes to sda
+ 2.6.20-14 - 1 minute hang at boot - cdrom drives not detected

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

Since the upgrade to 14 the kernel hangs for about 1 minute.
- Hard disk hda changes to sda.
+ Hard disk hda changes to sda. and my cdrom drives are gone. no entry in /dev/
