Alright, so this is an issue with modemmanager, marking other bug tasks
as Invalid until we can ascertain they have something to play in this...

Does removing only modemmanager also work to allow you to boot?

Please remove modemmanager (and network-manager, if you really must),
then issue the 'sudo lspci -vnvn' command and attach the output to this
bug so we can get the details about your fax modem and fix what doesn't
work for its detection in ModemManager. The fax modem obviously needs to
be in the system for this command to be useful ;)

Also, please don't assign yourself to bugs, since this means you would
be working on fixing it. Thanks for your report!
