i had the same problem here.
i tried the solution mentioned in 
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1101473 comment #4
and just after nmbd and smbd stopped the dbus-deamon process went from 100% to 
something lower then 1%.

so apprently this has really something to to with samba.
