So it's a happened a few more times since then, and I've paid more
attention this last time, so here goes (in the format of that site for
clarity):

The machine breaks while going to sleep, so I shut it off manually.
Afterwards, it reboots normally, with no error messages.

it happens maybe 40% of the time, and it seems like the longer the
system has been running, the more likely it is to happen, though I can't
pinpoint any specific culprit. So it's not quite reproducible.

I'm not sure if it happened before, since I hadn't tried the suspend
feature until now.

This last time when it was in the limbo state I tried switching to a
different virtual console (through CTRL + ALT + F2), which didn't do
anything. I did not receive flashing caps lock, but the entire
keyboard's backlight started flashing, and I couldn't turn off the
backlight with the usual button (I'm on a Logitech G15 keyboard). I've
never seen the keyboard do this before. The system eventually turned
off after a few minutes and then hung on resume too, so this crash was
the worst yet.
