Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

sessions started from ldm (LTSP) crash immediatelly as it tries to use
compiz in not compatible hardware.

both systems are up-to-date "Ubuntu 10.10".

.xsession-errors shows:

`sudo gconftool-2 --direct --config-source
xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type string --set
/desktop/gnome/session/required_components/windowmanager metacity`

works around the issue.
